About ReMooD

ReMooD is a source port of the classic first person shooter named Doom. On a more in-depth inheritance it is based off Doom Legacy and aims to provide the experience but with more stability and innovations. It is currently available for Windows 98/98SE/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7, ReactOS 0.3+ and Linux. It also has the ability to work on both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.

How was the name thought up?

At first ReMooD was going to be called GDDoom (GhostlyDeath's Doom). Then it was thought up that Doomer should be used but then a source port named Doomer would be confusing. Remood was thought up of in respect to this but the capitalized the 'm' and 'd' in respect to DooM, the improper title of the game.

How do you pronounce ReMooD?

ReMooD is pronounced as followed:

How was the ReMooD Logo created?

At first, the ReMooD logo was the Megasphere sprite and this was when it was based on the Original Linux Source Code (DSL). After that, the Megasphere was used for versions until a new logo was thought up. After Red` joined the team, a logo had to be thought up of, first it was a shape such as a star or pentagon but it was decided that it should be a sphere. Then there had to be a decision of what would be on the sphere, at first it was a lightning bolt and a 'R', either adjacent to each other or the R on top of the lightning bolt. However, before that, GhostlyDeath had made a logo with a reverse R on a lightning like blue and black background, that effect was repeated and placed on the sphere. As a result, the logo resembled a hellish planet to significy Hell (Mars in Doom). After that, the R logo was placed on it. A 3D version of this logo would resemble a cloudy red marble with an R inside of it that is always visible (Drawn second).

What font is used in The ReMooD Logo?

The R is 96pt Arial Black and the remaining eMooD is 75pt Arial Bold.

If the fonts are available on your system, it should look like this (point sizes vary depening on your web browser, the logo is at 72 pixels per inch):
ReMooD
If you do not have the fonts, then it will look like this:
ReMooD
